Newstand app stuck at sign in required

I have an iphone 4 and I installed newstand and the Nation Magazine.  It wanted me to sign in with my apple ID for updates.  It won't take my correct apple id and passcode.

I've turned off the phone, turned it back on.  Reset the firmware via my computer and iTunes .... and it's stuck.  It won't work at all.
