iphone 4 cannot manipulate mail

I can receive and read e-mail from all accounts normally, but I cannot interact with an e-mail in any way since upgrade to 6.1. All mail comes through, but I cannot reply, trash, forward, edit or anything else.  Menu selections that were there have disappeared.  I have tried deleting the accounts and re-creating them, but no change.
