this reset my phone

Hello, I was just wondering if you hold the lock and home button will it do a reset (without deleting my stuff, music pics etc) I have the iPhone 4S and I know doing that will take a screen shot but I was wondering if you kept holding it if it would do a reset. Reason being is I can not connect to my wifi. Other things in the house are connected. Also my tablet. I've tried re entering my wifi username and password an deleting it from my phone. Ive also turned the phone off.

Note ** before I turned off the phone my text messaging was not working either. But turning the phone off and back on solved that problem.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!! :)

I just don't want to have to delete everything in my phone lol.
