I'm abroad at the moment and so have turned off receiving cellular data on my iPhone. I'm having problems with the WiFi where I'm staying so it's been off for a while now. I can receive normal text messages sent from another iPhone to mine all right but the other day couldn't trace a text sent me. It transpires that this message was sent using iMessage.
Is it the case that iMessages are not sent in the same way as normal text messages so that the problem is that I have cellular data turned off, and that to ensure I don't miss any more while I'm abroad I'll have to ask that none are sent using iMessage?
