So my wife bought an iPhone 5 64g and also purchased a mophie juice pack case/battery.
last night (3/23/13) she is sitting in a lawn chair and accidently lets the phone slide from her lap to the floor.
the device probably fell a total of 12-18" and landed on the case portion (not flat faced).
the LCD assembly (digitizer and all) came away from the housing completely. it was only connected by the ribbons/cables that provide power to the assembly.
i work in the cellular industry and have dealt with iPhones for a while now and have never seen this happen before.
the glass is not broken in any way. it appears as if any adhesive or clamping components used for the assembly simply failed.
my concern is that if i go to the apple store for a replacement, am i going to get a hard time from some one at the "genius bar" claiming we abused or whatever the device?
has any one experienced this or have any information regarding something similar?
