HT3621 transfer pictures/files from iPhone 4 to laptop via bluetooth

I am beyond frustrated.  I've messed with this time after time to no avail. This morning I read that pictures/files cannot be transferred from iPhone4 to my laptop, or vice versa, via bluetooth. Is this information accurate? Is there a quicker way then having to do everything through iTunes?
