unable to delete tv shows

I have two TV shows on my iPhone that when I try to play say "Could not load video".  The do now show up anywhere on my phone when connected to iTunes and I cannot delete them form the phone. These shows were purchased from iTunes store.

I can download the exact same episode and then it shows up 2 times.  I can delete the new one (by swiping the episode and the red delete shows up) but the old one does not allow this.

The new one also shows up in itunes on my phone when connected to the computer.

I don't really want to reset my phone or restore from backup unless I have too.

Any suggestions or solutions out there?
