Maps-no voice

I recently bought an Iphone 5.

Maps works perfectly except there is no voice. I have done the basics like going into settings etc to make sure its turned on and set to loud but still nothing. I have tried in walking mode when searching for a destination and also while driving. All it gives me is the directions written on the screen. Any suggestions?
