Replacement iPhone

I've been having a few issues with my phone, so it's booked in with my Local Apple store at the weekend

My handset is locked to 3UK, if they swap it, will this one also be Locked or will it be unlocked.

I'm only asking because when my contract is up, if try to get the phone unlocked 3 are usually awkward about it if the handset isn't your original one
