Panorama Pictures-How to

I set it to panorama and afterwards it says panorama, yet I try to pan left to right while touching the panorama line on screen, but it does not begin to capture anything except a still. The bar for the panorama dies not move even though I attempt to hold and scroll the line on the view finder.

That may of been the worst explanation of the issue I am having, but rehashing somebody can decipher my jibe rush question.
