Verizon iPhone 4 touch issues

Up until today, I have had only minor issues with my touch screen. But, when I woke up today and started using my iPhone, the screen had many errors, including (but not limited to):

The service bar (at the top of the display) being partly visible.

Not able to hit the buttons that I tap for my 4 digit passcode.

Touching a letter key registers many of the letter.

Touching the backspace key deletes the entire text.

Difficulty pulling down the drop menu and returning from it.

Has anyone else experienced these issues? I have taken great care of my phone and it is long out of warranty. If you have troubleshooting techniques or any ideas, please, HELP!
