Why won't my iphone save screenshots or pictures taken to my album/camera roll

My iphone won't save screenshots or pictures to my camera roll or album. Each time i take a picture, it won't save or appear in my album. Also, when i take screenshots, which i'm doing correctly, my phone doesn't save them either. I recently deleted ALL of my photos from my albums/ camera roll after i discovered this problem. I also have avaliable icloud space, so i don't know what the problem is.
